Lateral Window Sinus Lift

This animation guides you through a lateral window sinus lift — a procedure used to add bone in areas where there’s not enough for a dental implant. It’s often needed when upper back teeth have been missing for a long time and the bone in that region has naturally reduced over time.

What’s happening in this Animation?

🦷 Speciality: Surgical, Implants

🛠 Stage: Rebuilding Foundations prior to Implants

🔀 Alternatives: Internal Sinus Lift, Block Graft, Tooth replacement options such as a dental bridge or denture if applicable to the case

Over time, the sinus expands downward into this space, leaving too little bone height and width to safely place a dental implant. Without this procedure, placing an implant might not be possible.

To rebuild the area, we gently create a small window in the side of the bone using vibration-based tools that protect surrounding tissues. Through this opening, we carefully lift the thin sinus membrane — a delicate lining inside the sinus — and place bone graft material underneath.

This graft acts like a scaffold, helping your body grow new bone over time. Once healed, the area has enough strength and volume to support a secure, long-lasting implant — all done with your comfort and future smile in mind.
